MEMORIAL OF THE 500 YEARS OF DISCOVERY

Oscar Niemeyer also left its mark in St. Vincent with the construction of the Memorial of the 500 Years of Discovery (Alameda Paulo Gonçalves, s / n), in 2002, on top of Porchat Island, the one designed by him around the coast. The platform has a bold design with bold curves and lines in concrete, since it was the first to explore methods of applying the material.
The monument is 76 m above the sea level and has capacity for 250 people. To enjoy the beautiful view of the shores of St. Vincent and the Saints, the monument's observation deck protrudes 17 meters from the slope of the island. The cover, wing-shaped concave, has a ceiling panel of photos and pictures telling the story of the country Its apex is pointed to Brasilia.
